RE:UK What’s going on in the non-real estate asset classes webinar

Join us for another session of the former IPF series that explores the outlook for non-property investment asset classes. Chaired by Sue Forster, the event will feature a presentation by Bill Dinning of W1M, offering insights into the wider investment landscape and the factors shaping future market opportunities.

Following the IPF/AREF/BPF merger to form Real Estate:UK, Sue Forster stepped down as Investment Property Forum CEO after nearly 20 years with the organisation. Her role was to ensure that the IPF fulfilled its mission of enhancing the understanding and efficiency of property as an investment through research, education and discussion. She was an IPF board member, responsible for the IPF Research Programme and an active participant on the IPF committees and groups.

A chartered surveyor for 40+ years, Sue started her career at Gerald Eve, before joining the Investment Agency team at Hillier Parker (now CBRE). On completing the University of the Built Environment (formerly College of Estate Management) 2-year Postgraduate Diploma in Property Investment, she was fast-tracked to IPF membership in 1990. By then, Sue had moved to the Planning & Development team at Drivers Jonas (now Deloitte Real Estate), where she was subsequently made a partner. Her interest in purpose-built leisure schemes prompted a move to EY’s newly formed Leisure & Hospitality Consulting team. Prior to joining the IPF, she was MD of FBI, an online and hard-copy data publisher.
She is a former member and Chair of the UBS Triton Property Fund Independent Supervisory Board and is currently the Honorary Treasurer of the Cambridge University Land Society.

Speaker: William Dinning, Waverton Investment Management (W1M)

Bill joined Waverton Investment Management, now W1M, in August 2017 and was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2019. He is also chairman of the Asset Allocation Committee and a member of the Executive Committee. Bill was previously Head of Investment Strategy at Coal Pension Trustees, helping to run the £20 billion Coal Industry pension schemes. Prior to that he had the same job title at Kames Capital in Edinburgh where he was responsible for managing several different funds and client mandates.

He began his career with investment bank PaineWebber and subsequently worked for investment banks Merrill Lynch and UBS Warburg in a variety of research roles in London, New York and Hong Kong. He has MA degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Trinity College, Oxford and in American Government from Georgetown University, Washington DC.
