RE:UK response to emergency repairs under the higher-risk building regime

We have responded to the Government’s consultation on improving proportionality and building safety outcomes in building control. Our response draws on members’ practical experience of the higher-risk building regime and highlights where the current emergency repairs provisions can be difficult to interpret and apply.

We support a clearer and more proportionate approach to urgent safety works, including greater flexibility around necessary replacements and upgrades, alongside clearer guidance and consideration of a separate route for critical works.
